The Polson Cross Country program was restarted by PHS P.E. instructor and coach Ms. Mindy Harwood in 1992. The program was dropped in the late 1970’s. The girls won the first ever X-C State Title for Polson (or for that matter any girls program at PHS) in 1994. The boys put together an incredible string of 4 STATE championships beginning during the 1996-97 school year. They brought home trophies in 1995-1996, 2000-2001, and 2001-2002 also for a total of 8 straight years of placing in the top 3 at the state meet. Ms. Harwood was elected to the Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004.
